Reflection and Goals Paper
Purpose:
This paper is designed to give you an opportunity to reflect
on your progress at the
Format:
As always, this paper should be typed, double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font with 1” margins on all four sides. Your paper should be 2 pages in length and have a clear introduction, body, and conclusion.
Introduction:
This should be one paragraph that explains what you intend to explain in your paper. It should contain a thesis statement and introduce your paper, topic, and general thoughts.
Body:
The body of your paper should contain the actual information for your paper. Remember that this is a REFLECTION paper. You should focus (and reflect) on two things: Academics and Conduct.
Academics:
Your reflections in this section should be about the types of success you have had this year, the ways in which this success was achieved, and the way you believe you can achieve more success in the coming school year. You must focus on areas of strength and areas of weakness. For example, if there is an area of weakness in terms of credit earned, create a plan about how you are going to fix this weakness for next year. If there were areas where you excelled, please tell about these and how you intend to keep up that success.
Conduct:
You have done a series of graphs in this area which outline your incident reports and appeals. In this section you might want to reflect on the types of issues that got you into trouble, a time of year when your conduct plummeted, improvement in your conduct, and what created these changes in your conduct. Also you may want to include information about units in which you had success or needed improvement in terms of credit earned and attendance. Note any correlations between conduct, credit earned, and attendance. Demonstrate how you are making this program work for you.
Conclusion:
This should sum up what you have already reflected on in your paper. Conclude with your plans for next year about how you will do better, what caused you problems, how you can change before next year, and where are you going.
What are your plans for next year?
What are your plans after WRAHS?
How has WRAHS helped you in your plans for the future?
These are questions to be taken seriously as you are trying to demonstrate that you are looking positively toward your future and wanting to achieve even more success next year.
